5 Male Beauty Tips for Grooms

We all know how much planning goes into making the bride beautiful for her big day. Diets start months in advance, and strict skincare routines come into play not long after that. That’s before you even start to think about getting the bride’s hair in perfect condition and consider building up the perfect even tan, should you want one. Most of the time, the groom doesn’t tend to think about his own grooming routine to prep for the big day – it’s even rare that a groom will diet or work-out leading up to his big day!

That’s why we’ve put together this article to offer five really simple tips that will ensure the groom will be looking his best as he stands at the alter. Trust us, if you don’t give them ago, you may very well regret a few of those wedding photos!

  1. Start a skincare routine

Every man should have a skin care routine – it’s a great way of ensuring your skin looks healthy, glowing and supple, and it will hide a multitude of sins, including hangovers and the occasional takeaway binge! However, don’t expect to start your routine a week before the wedding and look great, you may need to experiment with different products to see what works for your skin, and even the best mens moisturisers take a while to take effect.

  1. Practice your hair-do!

Last thing you want on your wedding day is bed head. We know some days you might wake up with naturally good hair – that’s something men can pull off well, but you might want to practice using a few styling products ready for your wedding day, so you can avoid any hair disasters. Ask your hairstylist to show you a few tricks of the trade.

  1. Learn your skin type.

Is your skin oily, dry, normal, or combination? You might want to ask a professional – don’t be shy, any beauty counter will be able to tell you, and if you head to a department store, there will be beauty counters dedicated to male products. Knowing your skin type can help you pick the right products to leave you looking fresh.

  1. Work out a little.

Yeah, we know working out is hard work, and you might not want to, because after all, a suit can hide even the worst beer belly. However, remember you’ll show your wedding pictures to your kids one day, and you’ll want to look your best for your beautiful bride. Even a short weekly run can do wonders for a figure.

  1. Have an emergency last-minute kit!

Grooming disasters like spots, dry skin and limp hair have a habit of emerging on important occasions where you want to look your best, so make sure you have a few essentials packed in your bag ready for your wedding. What would you rather, a rather large spot on your nose, or a stick of concealer that will cover it all up? We promise we won’t tell the best man.
